The SHIT Manager Opportunity

I am planning to go back to Beijing in April, and spend a month in China, a few friends got to know about it, and started to introduce some HR agents to me.

I recently got an email from one of those agents, with a nice subject: "The SHIT Manager Opportunity", which immediately grabbed my intention. What? SHIT manager Opportunity? hmm, I don't know who wants to grab that opportunity.

Of course it's not, it's "The SH IT Manager Opportunity" - i.e. Shanghai IT Manager. I will give it a try and see what happens, maybe I will be a perfect SH IT manager.

Posted by Picasa

Minister's lesson

Last night, it's the 2nd night that I watched NBC's "Deal or No Deal" show, Minister/wife/mother-of-two Cheryl Jackson of Plano, Tx., returned.
Jackson, who eliminated 11 cases the previous night, at one point saw $172,000 offer from the smart and mean banker, while she had 4 boxes, $1, $5, $300,000 and $750,000. She was brave enough to say 'No Deal', but when the next box opened showed $750,000, and banker's offer dropped (obviously) to $80,000, all her friends and family cheering her up, and she prayed, and gutted it out to say 'No Deal', I don't know what's in her mind when she had 2/3 of the chance to go almost empty-handed.

You can guess the results, the next box she opened was $300,000. Facing the total disaster and humiliation of a choice of $1 or $5, she finally made the right choice, and kept her spirit high and made the right guess, winning $5 over banker's $2 offer.

I don't know how Jackson, as a minister, would teach her people this week, but I think I learned a lesson about 'greedy' vs. 'faith'. In our lives, we often pray for good life, fortune, and we didn't think God answered us. Maybe that's what Jackson is thinking now, maybe her faith in God in this matter is shaken a little, but when you meet with God, and God asks "what happened that night when I gave you $170,000 for an hour of your work?", what would you say?

God is faithful, he even gave her the last rescue of $80K, at THAT moment, if you think you have God on your side, he will always bail you out, with $300K, I call that Satan.
